ELDER BOOK surrender - FINLAND (also in Scandal/Coverups section)
by RagingBull injehovah's witnesses to hand over top-secret manualon friday finland's jehovah's witnesses will give their religious rule book to the minister of justice and the minister of the interior so that it can be inspected to ensure that it's in line with finnish rule of law.
jehovah's witnesses will hand over their secret rule book to the minister of justice, anna-maja henriksson, and the minister of the interior, paivi rasanen.
image: heikki saukkomaa / lehtikuva until now, only senior members of the jehovahs witnesses committee have had access to the congregation's secret book of rules.. the disciplinary activities of the jehovah's witnesses committee have been criticised for violating human rights.. according to anna-maja henriksson, finland's minister of justice, the purpose of the handover is to examine the book and determine whether its rules and regulations run counter to finnish law.. henriksson and interior minister paivi rasanen met on thursday with the leadership of the jehovah's witnesses in helsinki.

Jgnat: I remember the great collaborative work that went on here at JWN to track down that generation, who they were and how long they lived. I think Leolaia helped quite a bit.
That was some three years ago and it was quite an experience asking for help on names and dates. As I remember it began with this thread. Aussie Oz made a great contribution.
It continued with this thread.
A year or so later, this thread was added.

Take the few minutes it takes to download this free essay (The Great Watchtower Contradiction), then take the 11 minutes it takes to read it. It will save you a lifetime of frustration.

Thank for enllightening us.
A bit of heads up, Suavo: Those numbers are specific enough to reveal your real identity as the person managing the accounts of a real congregation. I hope, if you want to continue to maintain your anonymity, that you've made them up.

I don't get it. If a person attempts suicide and is unsuccessful, that person is awarded some concessions in regard to his disfellowshipping.
On the other hand, if he/she (in good standing) is successful (and dies) then his funeral service at a Kingdom Hall and conducted by an elder becomes questionable.
"What, then, should be the attitude of members of a Christian congregation as to attending funerals of reported suicides who may have been associated with the congregation? What about an elder who has received a request to conduct such a funeral? Where death appears to have been accidental, even though it was reported as a suicide or may have involved mental illness, the consciences of some members of the congregation may permit them to attend the funeral to comfort the bereaved ones. Also, it is left up to the personal decision of an elder whether he will conduct such a funeral upon request. However, the congregation may prefer not to sponsor such a funeral publicly or to have it in the Kingdom Hall because of the effect it may have on the uninformed community.
On the other hand, where it is a clearly established suicide, members of the congregation and elders may desire not to become involved in the funeral. In such cases arrangements would be left to the family itself for a private funeral where some member of the household might say a few words for the sake of the relatives."The Watchtower, 1975 7/15 pp. 447-448 Questions From ReadersCult behavior is written all over it.

Biblical apologetics applied:
by bohm in"ladies and gentleman of the jury.. my client is accused of a serious crime, the crime of letting his 160 pounds pitpull terrier 'muppy' maul the neighbours two kid to death for calling his good friend bob fat.. ladies and gentlemen we must put aside our emotions and consider all relevant information in the complicated ethical situation my client found himself in that fatefull afternoon when he let loose 'muppy' on those kids and watched her gulp down their bloodied remains.. in particular there are two very important and indisputable facts to which i wish to direct your attention.
the first is the neighbours kids was teenagers, age 15 and 17, and as such should understand the clear and obvious moral relationship between calling someone fat and letting your pitbull terrier eat someone alive.
there is no, despite what some may think, moral equivalency between these two acts.

There probably is a metaphor here but I'm too dense to find it.

Trolley / Cart (reverse) witnessing
by FatFreek 2005 ini have yet to see a cart or trolley in our small community but am always ready when we visit the nearby mall in larger little rock, ar.
my billfold is jammed with a half dozen or so handouts printed and scissor cut from this link.
it references the main (11 minute read) at the bottom just in case the table sparks their interest.

I have yet to see a cart or trolley in our small community but am always ready when we visit the nearby mall in larger Little Rock, AR. My billfold is jammed with a half dozen or so handouts printed and scissor cut from this link. It looks like what follows:
It references the main (11 minute read) at the bottom just in case the table sparks their interest. Not surprisingly, that's called The Great Watchtower Contradiction.
I try to wait till they're engaged with a stranger so they can't revert to their shunning act.

More WT Propaganda: 10 Year Old Children Should Get Baptized!
by Oubliette ini just caught this in an upcoming study article which will be "studied" in the congregations the week of 11/18-24/13:.
he and his wife were elated when their eldest daughter, age ten, told them that she loved her parents, loved the brothers and sisters, and loved jehovah very much.
she said that she wanted to dedicate her life to jehovah and get baptized.

KateWild: "There is even a cartoon on JW.org with kids getting baptised." Kate -- please source that one. I tried to find it but couldn't. That's a massive site.
Blondie, that's a great list of things young ones are simply not allowed -- because they're too young.
For what it's worth, there are two examples from various Watchtower yearbooks where children were as young as six years old. Disfellowshipping has been reported here on this forum on a youngster of 12 or 13 years old.
